AUGUST 27, 2019 — It’s official: Brie Larson is finally going to make a movie.
The Oscar-nominated director of Brie’s “The Danish Girl” and “Mulan” is releasing her first film, “Brie’s Big Movie.”
Larson will direct the pic starring Emma Stone, Idris Elba, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Michael Pena, which is set to open in October 2019.
The pic is based on the true story of Brienne of Tarth, a woman who was kidnapped by the First Men in the second century B.C. She was rescued by a warrior named Umber (Elba) and the three-year-old girl who would become the daughter of the First King of Denmark.
She eventually returned home and founded a new kingdom on the continent.
Brie is an Oscar-winner who has directed a number of big screen and TV movies, including “American Hustle,” “American Sniper,” “Pillowtalk,” and “American Beauty.”
She is also known for writing and directing the upcoming “Mudbound,” starring Kristen Stewart.
